Real Texas Calendar

I have a Texas themed calendar tacked up on the wall in front of my computer area down in my manspace.

I call my office downstairs my manspace because me and the dog Bowie end up down there for many hours during the day.  I also store a lot of my stuff there such as about 5 bookshelves full of books, pictures, golf clubs, beer, plaques that remind me of when I was somebody, and of course all  my computer paraphernalia.

But back to the calendar.  It is a Texas calendar.  It does not begin on January 1.  What relevance does that have to Texas?

My calendar starts on March 2 and runs through February.  Some of you non Texans might wonder why the Texas calendar starts on March 2.  Yes, silly question, but the answer is….March 2 is Texas Independence Day.

The Bona Fide Original Real Texas Calendar is the brainchild of one Roger Moore.  Rog is a talented artist with a love for Texas and he has been doing his Texas cartoon thing for quite a few years now.  He either lives in Spicewood or Merkel, I can’t remember which.

I first met Roger Moore at a Texas Press Association convention somewhere and subscribed to his Texas cartoons for my newspapers.  I now subscribe to them for my blog and those of you who receive Real Texas Tidbits on a regular basis get to see those cartoons at least once a week.  Go ahead and get your free Texas Tidbits by clicking here and you’ll enjoy getting little tidbits all about the Great State every so often.  No charge and no obligation at all.  Just yours to enjoy.

You can also enjoy Roger Moore’s calendar.  You can order your Texas Calendar straight from him.  No, I don’t make anything off of the sale, but I can guarantee you will enjoy having your own Texas Calendar just like I do.

Here’s how to order straight from Roger:

Your “Texas Correct ” 2011 calendar is ready for the enjoyment of Texans and the edification of yankees and other foreigners.  The one and only “Texas Calendar” is right and ready for consumer consumption.  The 2011 Bona Fide Real Texas Calendar is full of Texas History facts , cartoons , trivia , tidbits , Texas Talk and more ! ” It’s a virtual almanac of all that’s Texan in 12 usable , essential , and somewhat humorous pages ” says Roger Todd Moore, cartoonist and creator of the Real Texas Calendar.

The calendars are available online at www.texascalendars.com or from Roger Todd Moore his own self at PO Box 155 Merkel, Texas 79536 for only $8.95 each.
