…Hershey Kiss Cookie Recipe!

This year is a special Christmas year for us…we have gone through some rough health issues with Ramona, made a major move to San Antonio from our west Texas paradise, but we also have so much to be thankful for.

This Christmas season Ramona said, “I’m back on track.  Well I’m a little behind…usually by October I have all my Christmas shopping done and by the time the Christmas tree goes up (the day after Thanksgiving) I have all the Christmas presents wrapped.  Then I have all the Toffee made by the 1st part of December and am ready to get on with the Christmas menu!”

She continues….So it’s December 13th, and I have all the Christmas presents wrapped and under the tree.  Even the babies (dogs, cats, chickens others….) have a pile of presents.  It’s so funny to watch them open them on Christmas morning…you’d think we had a house full of little kids.  Well, we do!  But that’s another story for later.  Getting back on schedule, we have all the Toffee made. (This year I needed help from Santa’s Elf)  and All presents are delivered to friends and family.

My Christmas menu is planned. This year we are having 2 Christmas days.  One is so Joe David can open his gifts (he needs to go and spend some time with his mom and family) and then David’s birthday (which is Christmas Day).  I make him a special meal (Prime Rib Roast, with mashed potatoes, gravy, and acorn squash) and for dessert instead of a birthday cake, his favorite Lemon Icebox Pie.  It’s so not in season or  a Christmas dessert, but it’s his birthday and this is what he wants! lol  It will be interesting because I’m cooking all of my Christmas goodies from my pretend kitchen…we are still finishing our huge kitchen room addition.

Now it’s time to relax and make some fun Christmas goodies…you never do know what Santa will like this year, so I’m going to make a few different goodies so he can choose.

I’m starting off with our favorite Christmas cookies, Hershey Kiss Cookies…They are always a delicious Christmas cookie…but when I think of Hershey Kisses, I used to think of the Hershey Kiss Christmas song commercial….but now I just see images of boxer shorts wiggling!!! lol

Here are some recipes that I’ve posted in the past, but are some of my favorite Christmas goodies, I hope you enjoy!  Merry Christmas and to all Happy Cooking! Just click on the hyperlinks below for the recipes to my favorite Christmas Recipes.

Wishing only the very best for you and yours…

David and Ramona,

It made my day reading the blog and picking up great holiday recipe ideas. We recently spent time in Charleston, SC and Jan was amazed at all of the recipes that included bacon and bacon fat – and she thought they overdid it just a bit. They even had a bacon flavored cola and a Bacon Martini. I can’t wait to surprise her with the Real Texas Jalapeno Peanut Brittle Bacon Cookies!

We miss you guys and hope all is going well. We’re going to try to drop by for a visit soon.

Jim Bob
