Texas hosts World Series

It’s Texas Vs. San Francisco in the World Series starting this evening, Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010.  The Ballpark in Arlington will be spotlighted starting Saturday with two games already played in San Francisco.  Since I’m writing this a little ahead of time, I don’t know how it is all going right now, but I do know the Texas Rangers baseball team has already made us Texans….Way too proud of Texas….once again.

Ir really doesn’t bother me a lot that we Real Texans probably make the rest of the country sick with our admiration of  and pride in The Great State.  Especially the fans from San Francisco.

The baseball fans visiting from California will be getting a glimpse of the Promised Land in the form of Arlington, Fort Worth, and Dallas and of course, the very unique Rangers Ballpark in Arlington, one of America’s very best baseball stadiums.  Baseball got started in Arlington at the Ballpark on April 1, 1994.  It was a few years ago at a Texas Press Association meeting or some similar event where we took a tour of the Ballpark and it is impressive.  The fence is uneven and for the home run hitting Rangers, the centerfield fence is 400′ straightaway.

The cost of construction was $191 million and the architects took design features from numerous established ballparks from around the country and incorporated the design into the Ballpark at Arlington.  It has design elements from Ebbets Field in Brooklyn and Tiger field in Detroit and others.

So, its a good place for a national and international spotlight to shine.

It seems like Texas just shines a little brighter at times like this.

Here is a schedule of sorts just so you know:

Game 1:  Wednesday, October 27, Texas at San Francisco 6:57 p.m.

Game 2:  Thursday-Texas at San Francisco 6:57 p.m.

Game 4:  Sunday, October 31 in Texas 7:20p.m.

Game 5:  (if needed) Monday, November 1 in Texas  6:57 p.m.

Game 6:  (if needed) Wednesday, November 3 in San Francisco 6:57 p.m.

Game 6:  (if needed) Thursday, November 4 in San Francisco 6:57 p.m.
