Because we are “the melting pot.” Don’t you remember your
public school (socialist education) text books which said that
there is really no such thing as an American; we are a diverse
people made up of all nationalities, races & kindred!! It is
diffficult for us older folk to share our highways, emergency
rooms & airwaves with the newcomers (most of whom have not
contributed a damn thing to USA), but we need to learn love and
tolerance. Yep, they come here because they love our milk
and honey–then, immediately join in with the bastards (good
Biblical word) who are leading us down the road to serfdom!!
I agree with you Ron, but a melting pot is where everyone is in the same pot, blended together as Americans, and of the same mind and mostly of the same spirit. America is no longer a melting pot in any form or fashion. We no longer have the generations of our grandfathers and g-grandfathers who came here wanting to be Americans and willing to do whatever they must do to be a part of the country they would come to love. They were required to learn our language, and were eager to do so. They fought for this country in all our great wars, and died so that their children could remain free; could have the freedoms that we all once enjoyed. They went to the polls as educated voters to select our leaders. Many of them even became great leaders themselves. They worked hard and for long hours so that they could become successful and pass on their wealth to the children. They indeed did become Americans!
Take a look at our melting pot now. Regardless of how much it is heated, nothing in it melts together. Many only want the free services that are available, such as food and medical services, and a check that comes to their doorsteps each month. Most have no desire whatsoever to learn our language. Many even want to live in this country under their home country flag. Some are here only to become a part of the growing movement to overthrow this government. Very few have the desire to become citizens of this country. And, those that are actually earning a part of our ‘milk and honey’ are sending it back to their homeland.
God have mercy on us, but I think he is saying, “You’ve kicked me out of your schools, out of your churches, out of your politics, and out of your hearts. You think you don’t need me anymore, so I’ll let you do it your way.”
Way to go Warthog. Why should I have to press “1” for English for anything. If we go to another country we don’t have the option of press “1” for anything. Its learn the language or forget about it.
That’s a good question — why can’t the other guys press dos?
I think I would probably start to worry if I had to press “2” for English.
