While writing my latest Ebook that is titled How To Be Texan – Wherever You Are, I have a section on music. I explain that I like both kinds of music, Country and Western. I’ve had a great time researching material for the book, at least the material that is truthful and not straight out of my head. After all, the motto of Real Texas Blog.com is displayed somewhere in the top right corner of the blog in the animoto video clip. One of the clips says it all:
Texas stories told here……Some True.
Actually I do like several genres of music. Some classical, some rock, I even like one Barbra Striesand song….after that she can just shut up as far as I’m concerned.
A friend sent me a list of his possible top ten Country song titles. Don’t know if he ever actually heard any of these songs, but I do like the titles. Some may be a little off color for you, but still funny.

“If my nose was running money honey, I’d blow it all on you.”
That was really cute. Vince Gill has been one of my favorites. I really love his songs. Thanks for sending!……..Darla
David, I love Texas music. There are too many great song writers and songs about Texas to pick just one. In keeping with your top 10 titles, I’ll add Kinky Friedman, “Get Your Biscuits In The Oven, And Your Buns In The Bed”.

I have a whole list of them which I have to find first and I’ll send them later, but my all time favorite happens to be a real song by Doug Bressler and I heard him sing it at a performance of Comfort Little Theater in May this year: “When the Moon Goes Down On Medina Lake, I’ll Be going Down On You”. If this is a family blog —— sorry, but it is a real song.
“If my nose was running money” is a real song also, sung by Aaron Wilburn.

Scott Wiggins Band has some real life relationship songs that are great. I think he is the real thing – I grew up in Alpine Texas and have met some of the greatest. Willie, Hank Williams,JR. (not sure he is great but part of the experience) George Strait and so many others. There is a small bar there called the Railroad Blues. It is said that bar has be a path through which many a country star has traveled. Give Scott a llsten!
