Real Texas Music, it’s just the best there is.

OK, enough with the Roman numerals thing. I’m going to switch over to regular numbers pretty soon. Most of my friends can’t count past ten in Roman numerals anyway.

This week on Real Texas Music Video Friday we are focusing on Ray Wylie Hubbard. Next week were switching to a few of the classics…that is a ‘code word’ for old timers….

Ray Wylie Hubbard is another singer/songwriter who got to Texas as soon as he could. He attended high school in Dallas and spent a lot of summers in Red River, New Mexico. That’s kinda in North West Texas I think. It was there he wrote Up Against The Wall Redneck Mother, made famous by Jerry Jeff. We went into that last week in Music Video Week VI.

These days he spends a lot of time in New Braunfels, Texas. He is popular worldwide and has quite a following in Europe as well as the USA. I like Ray primarily because of his song, “Screw You, we’re from Texas.” I posted that song right after the last presidential election and got lambasted from every left wing nutjob in America….or so it seemed. Read about that here.

However, the video just about said everything I had to say at that moment. Who wants to go to Delaware anyway? Here it is….

Conversations with the Devil

Snake Farm…It mentions Ramona by name several times.

Sure, blame it on your friend’s ignorance of Roman Numerals. I bet Jan you wouldn’t make it past 8 because 9 is where it starts to get tricky! I won! By the way, enjoyed Ray Wylie Hubbard – hadn’t heard of him in a while!

Didn’t he also write London Homesick Blues, or was that somebody else?
