Real Texas Peppermint BarkWhat a smooth combination….Peppermint (candy canes) and white chocolate!  Real Texas Peppermint Bark is so delicious and easy to make.  You’ll want to add this festive holiday candy to your Christmas Platters, or give as a gift all by itself.  I use the mini candy canes, because they are easier to crush.

Here’s a video for you to enjoy…

Real Texas Peppermint Bark

Ingredients

2 packages mini Candy Canes

2 packages White Chocolate

Directions

Peppermint

Unwrap the individual candy canes and place in a ziplock bag.  I use a hammer and crush the candy canes to the size that I want.

You can use a food processor. Make sure not to over process the candy canes into powder.

You should have approximately 1 1/2 to 2 cups of crushed candy canes.

Melting ChocolatePlace the white chocolate squares into a pan and melt over low heat.

You can also use a double boiler pan and put water in the bottom pan.

I have found that you can just melt in one pan as long as you stir constantly and don’t let the chocolate burn.

Adding peppermint

Turn off the heat as soon as the white chocolate is melted and remove from heat.

Stir in the crushed peppermint. You will want to stir quickly, but thoroughly.

Don’t over stir, or the crushed peppermint will dissolve.

Spreading the Real Texas Peppermint Bark

Place parchment paper on the countertop.

Spread the peppermint mixture on the parchment paper.

Spread approximately 1/4″ thick.

Let cool until completely set.

Lift off the parchment paper and break into approximately 2″ pieces.

Keep family from eating all of your Real Texas Peppermint Bark so you will have some for your Christmas Platters!
