Here’s another one of David’s favorite recipes!  He ate 2 of the Real Texas Jalapeno Burgers on Corn Tortillas!

It’s easier to broil the burgers than to grill them because since you are adding ingredients that will make the burger juicier, they tend to fall through the grill grate.  The egg and the bread crumbs hold the burger together, but not as they are cooking.  I like broiling better than frying also because I can get rid of some of the fat making this a healthier burger!

Ingredients

1 pound Ground Hamburger Meat

1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder

1/4 teaspoon Jalapeno Lime Pepper Spice (or you can use Pepper)

Pinch of Kosher Salt

1/4 cup Seasoned Bread Crumbs

1 Jalapeno, minced

2 tablespoons Ketchup

1 tablespoon Mustard

1 tablespoon Mayonnaise

1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce

1 Egg

12 Corn Tortillas (This will make 6 Jalapeno Burgers)

Directions

Take ground hamburger and add garlic powder, jalapeno lime pepper spice, pinch of salt, bread crumbs, minced jalapenos, ketchup, mayonnaise, Worcestershire sauce, mustard and one egg. Mix it all up for a while using your hands.

Divide the mixture according to the number of burgers you need. I made three this time. (I used 1/2 pound hamburger meat) Make the divided patties as thin as you can and put on a greased or sprayed broiler pan.

Broil the pieces in a toaster oven; flip the burgers over once one side is cooked.

Add the burger on top of the fried corn tortilla to make the bottom. Add some pepper jack cheese, sliced Texas sweet onion, some avocado, and picante sauce.

Cover the top with another fried corn tortilla.

This very tasty Real Texas jalapeno burger is ready to be served! Yep, David enjoyed two of these really good jalapeno burgers.   Buuuuurp!
