We love any recipe with Pecans in it and this is a new recipe that will be added to our favorite collection!  Ramona is trying to get in all her Christmas recipes before Christmas.

I make Christmas Platters and this year have decided to add all new recipes for my tasty holiday treats.

I used Wild Turkey 101 proof and it’s a delicious touch to my recipe.  The liquor does not add any ‘liquor’ taste to the pecans, but it is designed to enhance the flavor some.  Go ahead and give it a try.

Real Texas Bourbon Spiced Pecans

Ingredients

4 cups Pecans, shelled and halved
1 stick Butter
1 1/2 cups Brown Sugar, packed
1 teaspoon Cinnamon
1 teaspoon Salt
1/4 cup Bourbon

Directions

Place pecans on a cookie sheet and roast in the oven at 350F degrees, toast or roast them until they become golden, but not burnt. It should take 5 to 7 minutes.

Take the roasted pecans out of the oven. You can see they are a roasted color.

Add the pecans to a skillet with melted butter. Stir and coat the pecans. Once coated, add brown sugar and stir. While stirring in the brown sugar, add cinnamon, kosher salt, stir and cook at medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes. You actually will get a glaze.

Stirring the pecans at 8 to 10 minutes you can see that the sugar glazed over the pecans. Add the bourbon. Coat and stir the pecans for about 1 to 2 minutes and the alcohol will evaporate.

Pour the pecans out of the skillet on to a cookie sheet. Cool them for about 20 to 30 minutes. And as you can tell that they are starting to stick together.

Break the pecans apart into manageable pieces on a paper towel. This will soak up some butter. Put them in air tight ziplock bags.

Does the cook get a quarter cup of the Wild Turkey, also??

For medicinal purposes only, of course!!
