Run, Run, Rudolph
This is a good start to get you in the spirit of Christmas. I had a good ear to hear him date the song with the line “taking off like a Sabre jet at about the 2:15 mark. I used to build Sabre Jet model airplanes…..Great Christmas song sung very well by Luke Bryan. Jerry Jeff also has a great Christmas album called A Gonzo Christmas Album and Toby Keith adds a lot of good ones.
Run, Run Rudolph was written originally by Johnny Marks and Marvin Brodie and published appropriately by St. Nicholas Music. The original name of this great tune was Run, Rudolph, Run and it’s a great Christmas Song made popular by Chuck Berry. Berry first released the song in 1958 and it hit #69 on the Billboard Top 100. It has been sung by many groups and solo artists including Luke Bryan, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Sister Hazel, Billy Ray Cyrus, Five Easy Pieces, Sheryl Crow, The Grateful Dead, Keith Richards, Brinsley Schwarz, Jimmy Buffett, Foghat, Paul Brandt, The Tractors, Dwight Yoakam, Reverend Horton Heat, Hanoi Rocks, Billy Idol, Luke Bryan, and one of Real Texas favorites…..Los Lonely Boys.
Looking back some, I still remember a Christmas sitting around out in the pasture listening to the radio by a fire and hearing Ernest Tubb and Loretta Lynn singing ‘Sweet Thing.” Christmas time music is the best……Listen up and put your best smile on for the rest of the season.

“Pretty Paper” —- Roy Orbison & Gene Watson (one from West Texas & the other from East Texas) both have great versions of this touching song….May I kindly suggest?
I don’t think you can find anyone better at singing Christmas songs than ‘Gentleman’ Jim Reeves.
Good point….also, good singing gospel.
Just trying to prove my point.
May have to copy and paste.
