If Texas Was a Woman

What a great title and a great song!  Let me explain this a little more.

In one of our other lives, Ramona and I own a travel agency called….what else…..Texas Cruise Company.  We book cruises all the time, but mostly we specialize in cruises out of Galveston.  So the phone rings all the time and we meet lots of great folks from all over who want to cruise out of the Port of  Galveston.  No, you probably will not talk to me if you call.  Some people say my West Texas dialect is not really English and Ramona virtually bans me from answering the  phone.  She says I might ‘visit’ too long.

One of the bigger groups we have is called the Tex Mex Fandango.  It was started by my old friend T. Gozney Thornton who is a very accomplished musician/singer/songwriter.  T. Gozney Thornton performs often with his band, the Old Hat Band and we are frequent visitors to his performances. Go visit the site, read all about T. Gozney Thornton and the performers, and you will see how much fun it is.

About 105 fellow music lovers and country dance lovers joined us on the last Tex Mex Fandango and we had a heck of a time.  Yes, of course you are invited to go with us this next year.  It’s on a new ship with a new itinerary and as I have stated in the past, while Texas was freezing this winter, Ramona and I were walking on the beach in Grand Cayman and swimming in the ocean when we got tired of walking on the beach.

One of our guests on the cruise is a lady named Cynthia Jordan.  She will also be going with us next year on the Tex Mex Fandango and Blues Cruise IV.  She is a singer, songwriter and and extreme talent.  You already know her #1 hit single, “Jose Cuervo, You are a Friend of  Mine“.  However, I want to introduce you to her song, “If Texas Was a Woman.

The still pictures in the presentation are of Galveston, a part of my newest eBook on Cruising the Caribbean.  It’s a part of the new revision I’m working on.  Every time we go to a new port, we do a lot of research and take lots of photos to include in the eBook, so there will be lots of photos in the book on as many as 10 different ports.    This way, cruisers who take cruises through Texas Cruise Company can really get a lot of great information on the ports they visit.

Anyway……that is the background.  We used Cynthia Jordan’s song in the presentation, and you get some good information on Galveston as well as hear a good Texas Song.  Enjoy!

You can meet Cynthia Jordan, T. Gozney Thornton, Jeff Strahan, and Texas Tornado legend Augie Meyers on the next Tex Mex Fandango Cruise which sails from January 29-February 5, 2012. Call somebody who speaks better English than me at 325-835-7561 anytime and go with us.
